OKR does take up around 8GB of hard drive space. The program is important if you ever want to restore your S10 back to a factory fresh install. However, if you have an OEM disk of Windows XP Home SP3, you can always delete OKR and just install XP yourself. Lenovo even supplies the drivers on their site. The license for XP is printed on the bottom of your S10.
BTW, I highly recommend placing a piece of clear packing tape over the XP license on the bottom of your S10. The license isn't protected otherwise and has a tendency to wear off.
