First: Thank You treyjazz for the write up.
I can confirm headphones are supported on 10.6.0
Second: I have successfully booted Windows 7 and Mac OS X 10.6.0 onto my s10-3 on an MBR partition, which first loads to Chameleon where I am able to decide which operating system to use. So YES it is possible.
Feedback/Questions:
1. After installing Mac OS X, rebooting again into the installer and loading NBI{Utility -> Netbook Installer} the program only loads a small window where I decide which partition{install} to load the NBI and an install button.
There are no options at all; no "fix bluetooth" "Enable Remote CD" or "Enable Hibernation".
Question: How do I access these options?
For reference this is the step as described in your write up:
"Select the partition you just installed SL onto and when it is done
Uncheck Fix bluetooth (unless you have added a BT card) and Enable Remote CD (if you aren't going to be accessing CD/DVD drives across a networked computer) and Enable hibernation if it is checked then click Install and enter your password"
*Since I was not able to find any options, I was not asked for a password; but how can a password be entered if an account has not yet been created?*
2. Even without being able to access the options menu. The NBI Utility reported as installing successfully, I held the power button until shutdown then rebooted. On reboot the system loaded straight to Mac OS X where I set up my username/password.
Mac OS X loaded with the following NOT working:
-Wifi
-Mic
-Sleep
-Webcam (works about 25% of the time with Photobooth)
After loading Mac OS X I found that the {Harddrive Name}/Extra folder was hidden, not allowing me to access the com.apple.boot.plist file or theme folder.
After doing some research I found a solution:
In Mac OS X type Cmnd+Shift+G (on S10-3 Keyboard it is Alt+Shift+G) then enter /Extra and it will access the hidden Extra folder. I was then able to drag my new THEME folder to the Extra folder and overwrite the default THEME folder.
*******Other Points********
In your write up you say to replace the file "InstaInstallerMenuAddition.plist" with the one in your S10-3 SL Disc Patch.zip The file in both the original directory and in your zip package are titled "InstallerMenuAddition"
From your write up:
Open S10-3 SL Disc patch.zip
Place the NetbookInstaller 0.8.5pre.app directory inside /Applications/Utilities
Overwrite /System/Installation/CDIS/Mac OS X Installer.app/Contents/Resources/InstaInstallerMenuAdditions.plist
Also I feel you should reformat this section for better clarity as follows:
*******
*Unzip S10-3 SL Disc patch.zip
*Open newly created S10-3 SL Disc patch folder
*Copy the NetbookInstaller 0.8.5pre.app folder to the following directory on your SL Install USB within Transmac:
/Applications/Utilities/
*Next copy the InstallerMenuAdditions file from your S10-3 SL Disc patch folder to the following directory on your SL Install USB within Transmac:
/System/Installation/CDIS/Mac OS X Installer.app/Contents/Resources/
(when asked to overwrite the existing InstallerMenuAdditions file, choose Yes)
