The S netbook is NOT an Apple product and was never intended to run Mac OSX. Fortunately, enthusiasts have found ways to make OSX run on our netbook. However, the process may not be smooth for some. Make sure you have patience and time to get it to run. Most importantly, motivation to read and learn. This forum contains enough information to get OSX running. Most problems you may encounter can be solved just by reading through the forums or searching. So please take the time and read through the forums!

Why should i maintain several inkarnations of the same OS and reboot to switch several times a Day just because Windows gets "strange" after a certain amount of installed Apps.

No no, I mean have one OS disk and another separate data disk, so your OS disk can just run the OS and applications and not have to do double-duty by also retrieving and maintaining data. Not talking about multi-booting. :)

Unfortunately is multibooting something a lot of so called "windows gurus" (which have often never seen any proper microsoft training) recommend. One system for gaming ( a lot of installs, deinstalls, installs ...), one for web/email to keep the others safe, one for office etc.

The most annoying type of windows users are the ones that don't even spend a dime on their OS License and cannot update or don't dare, because wga might kill their system. I have seen friends spend 500 EUR on a graphics card, but nothing on their OS license. If people know you are an IT Pro the most heared sentence on partys etc is "i Have a problem with my computer, how can i fix ..." (feel free to enter anything you like). I have convinced the windows users in my family to buy this licenses ( if you can spend 100-200 EUR per month on games you can afford a windows license ) this has dropped the number of calls about their problems to something near nothing.

Even if it is not perfectly legal (for my S10e) i own a family pack license of my apple products, so i have the right number of licenses.

I have a similar point of view regarding a lot of things (esp. cars): it should work. I know for some people it is fun to assemble/disasemble every part of their car, but i want to get safely from a to b. Some years ago i installed every linux distro i could lay my hands on, installed every software i could found and tried out, but know my quality time is reserved for my wife and daughter. At least 5 colleges have switch for similar reasons to macs. This is more important if you spend your whole day keeping systems alive for other users ( >1000 users client server apps ) By the way : why doesn't anybody use the online help anymore, it's so much easier to call someone then to read the same advice for yourself!

I don't disregard your point of view, but for me "beeing productive the easy way" is what i want.
UNIX is user-friendly! It's just very choosy about who its friends are, and even best friends fight sometimes.
