SilverZero,
I kinda agree with you...don't get me wrong I own a Win7 Desktop Gaming Rig as well. I am a computer guy all around, not just a mac fanboy. (I know you didn't call me one I'm just sayin') I love my Desktop for Gaming. I can game on my macbook pro but it's not really good for that with the money you spend on one. I want to tell you why I like mac over pc, just to give you a perspective you may not have heard...
I do A LOT of Audio and 3D/2D Development on the go and at home. I have noticed on my Macbook Pro I can have literally over 30 apps running at once and still have a responsive computer. My gaming rig is about four times as powerful, and the only thing it's better at, is well, gaming.
MAcBook Por Specs:
Core 2 Duo 2.8Ghz
Nvidia 9600M GT 512Mb
4Gb Of DDR3 1337Mhz RAM
500Gb 7200RPM HDD
etc...
Gaming Rig:
AMD 965 Quad-Core CPU @ 3.50 Ghz (Per Core)
4Gb Dual Channel DDR3 1800Mhz RAM
9800 GT 1Gb
1Tb 1000 RPM HDD
Liquid Cooling
etc...
As you can tell if my macbook was at those specs I could rule the world lol. Fact is, pcs are not meant to be workstations for the stuff I do. Most people I know didn't spring for a mac because they would have no use for it. If you aren't an artist or developer macs are pretty useless to you.
Also, yeah Apple is brutal against winows in their adds. I must say though, when I got my first Quad-core computer in 07' when they were spankin' new, it had vista..and it sucked.
At the time I hated macs, I could game ok with vista but before SP1 it was hell. I actually think vista was the best thing that ever happened to apple if that makes sense.
On my gaming rig with 7' it's decent, but I go to tell you, I can't have more than five programs open at once on it. I have about 450Gb of stuff installed so it has bogged down a .lil' but even when I turned it on the first time, it DEFF was not any better than my MacBook Pro at the graphic stuff, or Audio work.
Also, yeah, Macs are overpriced. It's kinda BS to. Not just because you get pc hardware, but because Apple builds the computer and the OS. That would save you A LOT of money. I don't really get why they are so much $$
To sum it up; For Actual Work, I need my mac, for playing/gaming I need my PC. It is so cool with the desktop, it's hooked up to a projector (1080i but still) The whole left wall of my office is my screen, about 14'
I love gaming that way, my mac could never provide such thrill haha. Thanks for sharing your honest opinion man, it's nice to hear other views ;
phattbam,
Yeah, I really wish I had waited...they released the i5/i7 MacBook Pros a week after I spent all my cabbage on the Core 2 Duo ones

Oh, well, not like I really needed it anyway....
