OSX on the S10-3t??? (N450)

Postby bhylak » Sun Feb 21, 2010 7:33 am

Hello,

I plan on buying the S10-3t. With all the hype from an epic fail, also called the iPad, I have really wanted a slate. Touchscreen wise, I did find a driver for a capacitive screen, but that is later down the road. I have OSX on my Acer Aspire One, and many others so I am not new to this. I figure the Chocolate Kernel from myHack will support it, but then I just need to find a driver for the Intel Graphics 3150... Some say that I should use the X3100 drivers, while others say the 3100, and others say I should use GMA950... So which one would be my best bet, and should I try first?

I couldn't believe the price tag at only 499, I was stunned! I would hate to switch to any tablet besides this one especially if it is over 550, and has a processor slower than 1.6ghz...

So, Any Luck... :D

Quote from the MyDellMini forums:

"The X3100 is supported but the 3100 isnt, so if its a X3100 spinoff then there might be some luck but if its a 3100 spinoff then its unlikely to work."

Not sure about the validity of the statement, but that's what somebody seems to believe is true.

How about the processor?

Do you know of any capacitive drivers for OSX? I would like to compare to what I have...

Any update on the S10-3t? I'm thinking about buying one and ideally I'd like to dual boot between it and Windows Ultimate 64-bit.

Do you think I'm heading down a road I don't want to head down?

Right now I have a MacBook from work and I'd love to be able to dual boot it with reFit, but for some reason I can't resize the partition with Disk Utility to make room for windows.

Any progress on the OSX on the S10-3t? I was thinking of buying one to replace my Dell Mini 9 Hackintosh. Lenovo has the S10-3t on sale for $467 with free shipping. Just wondering if I should go ahead on buy one and if the touch screen will work if the Hackintosh is done. Thanks guys.

Thanks SilverZero for the response. But I just need a simple question answered, Can OSX run with touchscreen capabilities on the S10-3t?

And my answer is: I don't think anybody knows yet.

By the way, did anybody else see that Best Buy has the 3t for $450 + $12 shipping? (No B&M pickup, evidently.)
