Shift @ and Shift " are opposite on my machine

Postby Rod » Wed Sep 23, 2009 7:03 am

Shift @ and Shift " are totally opposite on my machine.
When I hold down shift and @ I get " and when I hold down Shift and " I get @
How do I change it to what it should be.
Thanks

Are you in the UK? You probably have the wrong keyboard layout installed for your country. Check into that.

I've got a UK keyboard and my @ is shift '

my " is shift 2

If you're the same as me use a UK keyboard layout, if you're the other way round use a US keyboard layout. You may have the language bar on your task bar if you're in windows XP. Click on that to change it.

Hi,
Don`t have that icon on the task bar.
The only language setting I can find is in microsort office where it is set to English (us).
Not the end of the world but wondering if any other anomolies will turn up.
Thanks

Sorry, can I just add that on my other machines on the network the task bar shows EN. Clicking on this shows it is set to English (UK).
However on the lenovo this EN is not an option on the task bar.
Thanks

You have to change it through the Control Panel.

Thanks,
That`s why you are clever and I`m still a dummy (although learning)
I had been all over the control panel but couldn`t find the answer.
thanks
