make your screen scroll at bottom

was having problems on ubuntu jaunty with software opening windows too large to see buttons at bottom.

solution is xrandr...

i'm using:
xrandr --output LVDS --panning 1024x1024

So the screen scrolls as you move the cursor, I assume? If that works, this gets stickied!

happening for me. didn't see about making a larger virtual on the horizontal dimension. may have to fool with xconfig file, for that.

just updating to ubuntu 11.04 desktop
command target has changed to LVDS1

xrandr --output LVDS1 --panning 1024x1024
