How should I change the Supervisor password on BIOS ?

Postby chokxxi90210 » Mon Jul 13, 2009 12:43 pm

Guys,

I just hit another road block, I just discovered that there is a supervisor password set on the BIOS of my S10. Any master password anyone knows ?? or do I have to do it the old fashioned way by removing the CMOS battery from the motherboard and keep it off for 30 minutes and then put it back in and switch on the system.....

How to remove the supervisor password
To remove an SVP, do the following:
(A) [...]

(B) If an SVP has been forgotten:
1. Turn on the computer.
2. Unplug the AC adapter cable from the computer.
3. Remove the battery pack.
For how to remove the battery pack, see “1010 Battery pack” on page 57.
4. Remove the backup battery.
For how to remove the backup battery, see “1110 Fan, backup battery, and
system board” on page 77.
5. Wait about one minute.
6. Reinstall the backup battery and the battery pack.
Both the SVP and the user password will be removed.

Thanks but I was limited to booting from HD or LAN, so I couldn't try it.

Do you know if the procedure found on the PDF files works on IdeaPad S10-3t too? the document only metion: IdeaPad S9e, S10e and IdeaPad S10.

I bough this netbook at Fry's and when I got home I found that it has a Supervisor password active, I live to far from that store to go back and ask for help.

Do you know if there is another document specific for S10-3t?

Thanks
