estimated ship dates

I may just cancel my red one and order a white one.

I was thinking the same thing. My order is still showing a ship date of 10-14. So I called CS. I know, I know! Now my ship date is the week of Oct. 20th.

I asked why orders that were placed yesterday were already getting shipping emails, while I got nothing. I was told they process orders in the order they are received. Yeah, right!

I also asked if there was a problem with the red S10s, since that's the color I've ordered and I haven't seen any say they've gotten a shipping email on a red one. She put me on hold to ask and said there was no hold up on the reds.

Maybe they got a bunch of S10s in and the fullfillment folks are boxing them up out of order, but still will be able to fill the earlier orders before they run out. Maybe I'll be surprised and get a shipping email later. I sure hope so.

My ship date for the red one is listed in my signature. I'll know more tomorrow when the 24th has passed. I'm happy for the people that are getting their Lenovo's, but the S10 launch has been a major debacle.

I have come to the conclusion that the CSRs at Lenovo don't know anymore than we do.

I was getting to the point where I just stopped caring and just conceded to the fact that I would get it whenever Lenovo finally decides I've waited long enough and ships the damn thing to me. But after reading all these posts of people who ordered 5 weeks after I did getting shipping confirmations today, I'm getting really irritated to say the least.

Yelling at a CSR won't do much because they don't have any pull over there...besides, what can they do from a cubicle in India? They read from a script and just regurgitate info they see on the order status page.

As many before me have already said, Lenovo REALLY dropped the ball on this.

not to be rude, but havent you guys seen on the website that other colors dont ship until december? just because you were able to place an order doesnt mean they're in stock....

True, however there are still people that ordered yesterday that have had their orders shipped already, while people who ordered the same color on the first day still have not.

Well, I placed my order on 8/19 for the black one. That one was the cheapest out of all of them for some reason and the website said that it would ship within 2-3 weeks at the time of order.

Only AFTER all these delays and misinformation did the website post that these other colors wouldn't be available until December. For Lenovo to tack on another 3 MONTHS of leadtime after I placed my order is infuriating. The only other company that I've dealt with that pulls crap like this is Cisco. They LOVE saying that the leadtime on a product is 3-4 weeks, but it's more like 8-12 weeks.

Black is shipping also according to users on SlickDeals.

One user supposedly got theirs today (white) on an original order from the 8/19.

No Red units have been reported yet.

Not trying to be rude, but it says that *now.* It didn't say that when we ordered back in August. It said availability "2-3 weeks" for all 3 colors - white, black, or red. In fact those of us that placed orders on Aug. 19th got an estimated ship date of 9-9 if we ordered either white or red. The black orders got a ship date a week or so later. Other colors were not available to be ordered then.

The new S10 page showing the Dec. dates didn't go up until around a week or two ago. And it shows the black ones not being available until Dec, even though a few folks have gotten shipping emails on their black S10s. So we're not being idiots about this. We really do read the S10 pages on the Lenovo site. It's just that the information on the S10 has changed so many times, that we've grown a bit leery of anything presented there.

??????? Not sure what you mean. If you mean each time you call CS, you get a different story - that's absolutely right. I did try to express to the CS rep I talked to today that I wasn't upset with her - that I realized none of this was within her control - but that I was upset with Lenovo apparently shipping orders placed a day or so ago ahead of the first orders they took back in August.
