But, for the moment and Just for troublshooting, remove any usb device installed even mouse and turn airport off then sleep.

Another question. with the computer on, if you press power button what happens?

Regards.

All usb devices are disconnected.
When the computer goes into sleep mode (screen blank) it just doesnt wake up. Power button thereis nothing. I would need to hard reset (hold down power for 5 seconds)

With airport turned off and then sleep. Same. Hard shutdown needed.

ok, on my side, i suspect from the dsdt.aml provided ( I will double check it when I arrive home)

From your side,
Do you have it installed in the /extra folder?
the permissions should be 755 and root:wheel.
Check if you don't have a dsdt.aml file in the root (/) folder.

When you press the power button, you sould get the (sleep, shutdown menu).

I have dsdt.aml ONLY in the /Extra folder. No where else. All other kext you mentioned has been removed from /system/library/extensions.

Pushign of the power button bring sup the shutdown menu during normally operations. When compouter sleeps (monitor off) power button does nothing. Hard power shutdown using power button is only option at that time.

In step 3 and 4, I put sleepenabler.kext and fakesmc.kext into /S/L/E

After I ran
kextcache -v 1 -a i386 -m /System/Library/Extensions.mkext /System/Library/Extensions
I get this

SleepEnabler.kext - no compatible dependency found for com.apple.kpi.unsupported.
SleepEnabler.kext - no compatible dependency found for com.apple.kpi.iokit.
SleepEnabler.kext - no compatible dependency found for com.apple.kpi.libkern.
SleepEnabler.kext is missing dependencies (including anyway; dependencies may be available from elsewhere)

Still not working
By the way, I am on 10.6.2 if that should matter. Anyone else tried this?

Hi Dragonspeed,

also my S10-2 with HD Display will not wake up again. After I close the lid, it will fall asleep, but if I open the lid I can't wake it up.

I followed your instruction step by step (the last version). I have Mac OS 10.6.4.

Please install sleepenabler into /System/Library/Extensions/, do not forget to repair permissions and refresh cache again. Do this for sleep enabler for sure
I don't know for the rest of the kexts, personally, I am not using /Extra/Extensions, but for testing.
Also if you are running 10.6.2 should not be a problem, just add in first place to the kernel flags key into the file /Extra/com.apple.boot.pilist one of the following depending on your version (pmVersion=XX)

pmVersion=0 (Disable SleepEnabler)
pmVersion=17 (10.6.0/1)
pmVersion=18 (10.6.2)
pmVersion=19 (10.6.3)

<key>Kernel Flags</key>
<string>pmVersion=18 WHAT EVER YOU HAVE NEXT</string>

Hope it works.

let me know if it sleeps and wakes regardless of the lid closing.

I talk about the S10-2 with 1280x780 LCD Display (Type M21MCGE).

Here are the result of my tests:
1. I put the S10-2 in sleep by pressing the Powerbutton. I choose the sleep in the dialog and after that, the S10-2 went into the sleep mode. The Powerbutton starts to flash!
If I press the Powerbutton to wake the S10-2 up, the desktop came back, but then MacOS crashes.

2. I put the S10-2 in sleep by closing the lid. The S10-2 goes into sleep mode. The small Power LED in front of the S10-2 starts to flash.
Now I open and it start the desktop came back, then MacOS crashed again.

I retry to close and open the lid. Now the screen stays black. After I press the power button, Mac OS crashed agein withe the message: You need to restart your computer. Hold down the Power button ...

Hi,

I did a clean, fresh install with Enabler & followed your updated instructions (by the way there's a typing error in Line 2 of your Terminal commands - /Estras instead of Extras).

Netbook goes to sleep, but won't wake up (only 5s power off will help to boot again)....
