According to Lenovo Quick Start release note, the different panel size (10.1/10.2/8.9) resolution support is done by replacing the "kernel.bin".

Finally, Quick Start for S10 Official release is here. It's version 1.0.8.1 which I've mentioned before.

After testing, those newer versions are running with fullscreen 1024*576 when QS 1.0.16.3 is running with 1024*600 on S10, S9.

*Patching Instructions*
For 1.0.17.0/1.0.17.2, you need to overwrite both "QSTART.SYS" and "QSTART.000".
For 1.0.16.3, you need to overwrite "QSTART.SYS" only.
P.S. "QSTART.SYS" and "QSTART.000" are hidden folder under the drive (X:/) you selected to install QS.

<1st update>...
Hey guys, I'm sorry. I'm so careless. After testing again and again, It's working for everyone now. It's too complicated to tell how it works.

Lastly, the fully patch for S10 is here! (configuration panel screen setting works, nice resolution running on newer versions)

<original>...
As each of us who own a S10/S9 get all the stuff (e.g. BIOS...) ready for the Lenovo Quick Start, we all met the error message "...installation is incomplete...". Now i get it running perfectly on my S10.

In fact, there is a version of Lenovo Quick Start called 1.0.8.1 which works perfectly on S10 has never been released on Lenovo's site. There are "online games", "share your ideas" and "update" functions in it.

Do you have access to everything including bluetooth, picture folders? These the first two things I tested out. I didnt even see the bluetooth settings and i couldnt access my image folders (folder would not open). Also, I tried the screen settings in the configuration panel and it would not open up. Any ideas? Thoughts? Thanks!

Sure, I've tested everything including those you've mentioned, everything in the configuration panel work. I've also tested the card reader with a 4gb SD card and accessing those photos inside.

By the way, it seems that the bluetooth can not be used in Quick Start which I checked in the "help". It just mentioned WiFi, LAN, DSL and 3G would be supported in this version (1.0.17.0).

Maybe you could try to fully uninstall the one you are using including all personal settings and reinstall the newest one, put the "CEFULL" into /Quick.sys lastly. I wish it could help.

Confirming also that this technique described by lightxspeed does work. Using one of them "real old" S10's. You know. Ordered in August and got it in November....

Anyway, using Quick Start version 1.0.16.3, which is the last version before the new one posted on the support site on 4/16.

So far, working as "originally" advertised and thought we would be getting last year.

This will probably last until DeviceVM pushes Lenovo to kill this workaround or pay up a hefty license fee for all these "new" installs :(

Loaded the new CEFULL with 14CN59WW bios and QS 1.0.17.0 ... THANKS!

I am having an issue with the display that appears to display small (1024x576 maybe?) image on the screen, but allows viewing the entire 1024x600 screen with left-right and up-down side and bottom control bars ... also everything is blurry (as if zoomed in and not native resolution) ...

Anybody else seeing this? Ideas???

See! I told you Lenovo would do something about it

Better hang onto the old version. And thanks for the post as I will probably not install that new version that I spent the last two hours downloading :x

All of the QS applications appear to be running, but I do seem to be having a problem when any application (browser, skype, chat) tries to access the internet over the wireless connection. It appears to be a problem with DNS when using wireless. I see abnormally long resolving delays when using wireless via WPA2, WPA2, or open gateways.

UPDATE:
I was able to solve the slow DNS resolve with my Netopia router by hard coding the DNS in the wifi config ...

Dennis,

I have only tried QS twice and don't have the S10 with me at the moment. I was connecting to a WPA protected router, but held network connections with no issue. Used the browser for awhile and checked out that my SKYPE account would connect, which it did. Connecting did not take a long time on the initial connection.

Will play again when I get home later and task it a little more....
