Update to 10.6.4

Postby qubit » Tue Jun 15, 2010 9:02 pm

NBI, meklort has released a modified version that ronin510 and others have had success with. Follow the directions in his post on this thread here - http://s10lenovo.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=4357#p29853, for the backlight fix make sure you download the specific kext from his post here - http://s10lenovo.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=4128&start=20#p28732

Snow Leopard Enabler is now update compatible thanks to vaniii, download the new version 1.1.15 - http://s10lenovo.com/viewtopic.php?f=33&t=3280

For both software's, make sure you install before you update to 10.6.4.

Looks like this is true for Enabler users as well. No updating until the developer says it's okay. :)

Ok....now that I screwed up and did the update, can someone tell me how painful this will be to correct? I used enabler when I did my original install. Will this be painful? Many thanks. Cheers T.I.

Successfull Install
I've successfully updated to 10.6.4 with NBI 0.8.4RC1 on one partition and a broken install on another.

0.8.4RC1 seems to have a hardcoded ramdisk size, which may or may not work properly, depending on the size of your /S/L/E. meklort uploaded an updated NBI version to fix it: mydellmini

This new version fixed my broken install and worked on another 10.6.3 install. Run this updated NBI in 10.6.3, run 10.6.4 update, and restart. You'll see the NBI icon and just wait until you see your desktop.

Post-Install
Backlight after sleep doesn't work, like in 10.6.3. You'll have to do the AppleIntelIntegratedFramebuffer.kext fix again, found on this thread: viewtopic.php?f=33&t=4128

Aside from that, haven't run into any other problems.

Thanks ronin510, I realise now my problem was I ran the modified NBI after updating 10.6.4 using the recovery=y boot flag with no love.

I did the same thing by mistake. Ran Nbi after updating to 10.6.4 now s10 hangs loading at the gray screen when booting.
How can i fix this without re installing the whole osx?
