half-life 2 tweaks?

Hey everyone. I've already gotten HL2 to run decently on my S10, but I'm wondering if anyone knows of any ways to improve performance? I'm getting around 28 fps right now, so if anyone has any ideas that will give just a few extra fps, I'd appreciate it!

How did you get it to run? It just crashes for me, and also runs dog slow.

First, give it the -dxlevel 71 command line switch

Second, install the modded gma drivers from intel9xx.moonfruit.com

Third, use GMABooster and set it to 400 MHz (this does cause a SLIGHT increase in the drain on the battery, like going from 5 hours to 4 hrs 20 mins.

Finally, set everything to *low*. Low resolution, low model detail, etc
