They are small and extremely effective, you can just slide the laptop into any backpack or bag and its totally safe. I have over 5 of them for various electronics and would never go back. the netbook one is not yet available, but should be soon. a guy from texas sells them cheap on ebay. look for zeroshock III.

I highly recommend Shinza. I have one for my 14 inch dell inspiron and the quality is superb. It is not one of those cheep laptop cases, this actually has PADDING that will reduce shock if you ever drop it. The personal one-on-one customer service is also great. The case looks slick.

The Lenovo case seems kinda expensive at $25+ for the fact they look like the $15 CaseLogic cases...

The ZeroShock III 10.4 looks great, but its interior dimensions are 9.0 x 7.2 x 1.6 -- which won't fit the S10 and its 9.8 x 7.2 x 0.8-1.2 dimensions... Bummer!

The CaseLogic with the handles seems like a decent pick so far -- I wish it came with a shoulder strap, though.

Then again, I might go with the neoprene sleeve, so that I'm not screaming to the world "I'm carrying a laptop!" :p

the shinza's stretch. if its close, it will fit. roman is right, the padding is second to none. must be some kind of ancient chinese secret foam padding battle armor for electronics. my girlfriend is quite the clutz, she leaves it in the case around the house just in case. basically makes any backpack into a tough laptop bag.

From the advertisements, they seem to suggest that their super-dense foam padding does compress quite a bit, and offers improved protection. So, sure, I can see the S10 fitting in there if I squeezed it, but to have to squeeze it by 0.8"? I guess that might not be a problem, but I'm hesitant to jam something into a padded compartment. After all, the compression and give of the padding is what gives it protection, and I'm pre-compressing it, the protection is reduced.

Then again, it's still probably substantially better than the case logic neoprene that offers very little to no protection. :p

ZeroShock III 11-Inch Notebook Sleeve $26.95
Availability: Usually ships in 24 hours

Anticipated arrival is by end March 2007. The ZeroShock 11-Inch Notebook Sleeve is composed of a high-resistance polyurethane foam that provides superior absorption of external impact force. Applying this technology to notebook cases results in an unparalleled shock-absorption/weight ratio. Translation? Better protection for your notebook with less weight to lug around.

Features

* High-resistance polyurethane provides superior protection against external shocks
* Fits most notebooks with 10.6 to 11.1-inch displays
* Low profile design that fits snugly
* Two high-quality zippers with easy-to-grab rubber "mini-handles"
* Designed to be carried inside a separate bag or backpack

Technical Specifications

* Available colors: Black
* Exterior dimensions (W x D x H): 12.0 x 1.0 x 9.4 inches (305 x 25 x 240 mm)
* Interior dimensions (W x D x H): 10.8 x 1.6 x 8.4 inches (275 x 40 x 215 mm)
(To clear up a frequently-asked question: Yes, the exterior thickness is less than the interior thickness, since the former measures the thickness of an empty sleeve. The interior dimensions measure what will fit inside, so naturally the interior capacity will be greater than the thickness of an empty sleeve.)
* Materials: High-resistance polyurethane
* Weight: 0.54 lbs (0.245 kg)

I was debating on whether getting the 11" or 10" case from Shinza Zero Shock. 11" is a sure bet, but I'm pretty sure we can get away with the 10". It's more of a snug fit and of course smaller

Sorry, wasn't trying to be all super-negative, but I've seen waaaay too many laptops stuffed too tightly, at which point they end up taking nearly most of the shock and end up with cracked screens, busted hinges, etc, from minor bumps.

I do appreciate you pointing me in the right direction -- I was unaware that this brand had so many sizes...

Oh, no wonder they're hard to get -- they're a Japanese company:

Argh. Yay for quality, nay for availability. Nice lineup, though!

Regarding the 0.8" oversize of the S10 vs. the ZeroShockIII 10.4...

Looks like the foam doesn't "give" that much.

...but then again, we're talking width, not height... I suppose it might fit just fine...

I found someone in Japan selling on eBay:

Specifically, 10.4:

and 10.6-11.0:

Hmm. Tempted to buy it now, since it'll take a week+ to get here from Japan...

I hope so, too. When watching the goofy Lenovo China movie/ad http://www.engadget.com/2008/09/06/touc ... our-heart/ I noticed the girl pulling the S10 out of a case in her purse. This is toward the beginning when she's on the bus. It looks a bit thin, has an open end, and doesn't match the color of her pink S10 that well.

I've seen nothing to state that it comes with a case. This "case" in the movie could have been something mocked up to protect it while shooting. The Setup Poster on Lenovo's site doesn't list a case in the things to unpack. But it also says "Some models may contain items that are not listed." If you want a link to the Poster, it's listed along with the manual in another thread.
