Hi again,

To those who are going to keep their S10s from Best Buy I suggest you call Lenovo Technical support and check for your basic 1 year warranty. When I called, I found out that the warranty started on Nov 2, 2009 and will end Nov 2, 2010 - which is wrong since we bought the S10 December 26-27 2009. So I was transferred to the entitlement department and I have to send a scanned copy or a fax for the best buy recepit to the person I was talking to. Make sure you register your product on their website before calling. It's not a biggie but its better now that later.

Ace2002 -- call Bestbuy - they will likely credit you at least for the cost of shipping - they are sending me a new one and I can decide which one to keep.

I have some good news to the owners of S10 4333-36U from Best Buy :D

I got my Broadcom HD Crystal Decoder (BCM970012) and it works on the 2nd MiniPci-e Slot. This means I will not replace my internal wireless module. Some people were saying that it should not work on the 2nd slot because it uses a usb host interface instead of a minipcie. I don't know what I got but it is working! :D Now, I am at peace with my purchase with BB even though they had a mistake. I'm actually glad that they did :D Still doing some tests just to make sure it uses the full potential of the card. Right now, I'm in the "to good to be true" scenario so .. I just need more tests to confirm.

Well here is my resolution with Best Crap I went to the store localy. Talked to store manager he was helpful got on the phone with them and after 6 calls to them and 3 hours later. I left the store with a Toshiba NB205 and I am in love with it 9 hour battery life. The nice part I did not get any refund or credit but I walked away with a $400.00 netbook even swap thank you Best Crap.

Anyone else have any experience dealing with BestBuy customer service. I sent them an e-mail online truthfully stating that part of the reason why I made the purchase was because it stated that the netbook had bluetooth (not just bluetooth "ready") and asked if they could refund the difference between what it would cost me to buy and install the hardware ~ $25.00USD if I decided to keep this netbook (which I want too).

What are the pros and cons versus keeping the s10 Singapore model which we were accidentally shipped and returning it for the s10e that was advertised or returning it for an equivalent model which may be the Toshiba NB205 the gentlemen above was talking about.

Thanks for the input

*UPDATE*

After e-mailing BestBuy.com customer service twice and getting no response I decided to head to my local BestBuy store and speak to an actual real live customer service rep.

When I got to BestBuy I was greeted by an employee who introduced himself as a "manager". I explained the scenario to him and added that I really liked my s10 however part of the reason I originally ordered the s10e was because it came standard with bluetooth. I told him about this forum and the experience other users had with getting gift cards and/or have their shipping and handling charges refunded.

The manager took my information and looked in the BestBuy database to confirm that I had actually purchased an s10e. He said usually before dealing with a situation like this they ask the customer to bring in the product so they can confirm that they were shipped something other then what was advertised. When I informed him that I really didn't want to exchange my ideapad because I was extremely satisfied with it he said he would talk to the store manager and see what they could do.

After waiting for about 5 minutes he came back to the counter and said he woul sell me a Rocketfish™ - Micro Bluetooth USB Adapter
Model: RF-MRBTAD | SKU: 8820886 for $9.99USD which currently retails for $44.99USD both in store and online. My math told me this was a ~ $35.00USD discount and although I really wanted an internal bluetooth adapater this "micro" adapter was both tiny and had gotten relatively high reviews on bestbuy.com (4.0/5.0 based on 24 reviews).

The micro usb bluetooth adapter is 2.1 EDR compatible and was very easy to install and pair with my bluetooth devices (Samsung phone, HP Bluetooth mouse).

Hope this is useful information for anyone in the same boat.

Good luck!

I just saw that bluetooth. Good for you :D

Actually I bought an internal bluetooth from China twice .. it has major issues - I had to turn off wifi to have it in full use. I opted using a micro bluetooth dongle (just like yours) but I only bought if for $3.50 (winning bid on ebay). It was way better than using an internal bluetooth. Some said to buy the one from Hellowifi ($19.99) but since the mini dongle BT is already good enough for me, I think ill just stay with that.
