Packard Bell stopped selling machines in the US years ago, but remained a familiar brand in Europe. NEC bought them, then Acer. (And Gateway is also connected somehow?) So this machine probably has quite a lot in common with the Aspire One. I think this netbook is the first computer they're selling in North America in a very long time.
Short graphic design rant: PB's old-old logo was gorgeous (the 1920's one... I love old type) and I wish they'd go back to it. I guess the current one is better than the previous "some lines coming out of a guy's head" design, but it doesn't make me that interested in their computers...
