just change the dependency string in Info.plist of AppleACPIThermal.kext and it should start loading again, hopefully.

It works!

I edited the info.plist in AppleACPIThermal.Kext.
I just changed the string 1.2.1 to 1.2.4 under the key AppleACPIPlatorm.

Thx :D

I have the fan working, but also would like to point this out and if someone has found a solution. At a certain temperature (around the threshhold), the fan would suddenly just turn off, then on, then off again.

Can somebody please post their working 10.5.6 appleacpiplatform.kext? I overwrote my updated with an earlier version while trying to insert the thermal.ketx and my fan control is busted. Thanks!

i'm sure there's a way to patch the DSDT to change the thresholds to something more reasonable, i just havent figured it out. when i ran the DSDT patcher to get ready for 10.5.6, the fan behavior did change (but i dont think the DSDT patcher did anything specifically to change the fans, and in the end i decided that the fans were not working right after the patch)

thanks a lot however I'm certainly not a fan of megaupload, especially since I am in China and we get some issues with that site (aka stock in german) need to download a windows based client when using macosx and not free...
rapidshare would be much nicer,

I´m a little confused...
To get the fan to work in 10.5.5 I only have to install this modified version of AppleACPIPlatform.kext and it should work?
Is that right?

Thanx Jonas

I believe this kext is for 10.5.6, not 10.5.5
