The S netbook is NOT an Apple product and was never intended to run Mac OSX. Fortunately, enthusiasts have found ways to make OSX run on our netbook. However, the process may not be smooth for some. Make sure you have patience and time to get it to run. Most importantly, motivation to read and learn. This forum contains enough information to get OSX running. Most problems you may encounter can be solved just by reading through the forums or searching. So please take the time and read through the forums!

I tried installing the Voodoo drivers for audio. I put the prefpane file in /System/Library/PreferencePanes and I put the kext in /Extra/Extensions. I then ran Kext Utility as I thought it would "install" the kext. I rebooted my S10, but no sound :| I am sure it is something with .kext file.

Any hints on how to install these would be great!

You need to use the included prefPane to get internal mic working

I have tested it in 10.5.8 on my s10e and can now make skype calls using internal mic!!!

I'm not sure if this new hack has hit this forum yet...
None of it is my work - I just found it on an MSIWindforum, where it was taken from a Russian forum

Let me know if it comes in useful

How do I install the package you submitted?
Also, I can't find the /dev, /extra etc. folders. Please help!

Looks like a great guide.

What I would like to know is how I can purchase a Full Retail DVD of Snow Leopard 10.6 , not the upgrades from Leopard that the Apple.com site has listed. No, torrents or warez crap please.

But don't forget, the upgrade DVD can do a full clean install as well, as several users have reported. Also, this guide is fairly deprecated, you should see vaniii's Enabler on this forum for the current project.

Thanks. I was certainly expecting it to cost more than $26...

Yeah, that's why we really have very little tolerance for people looking for the pre-hacked distros. It's easy enough to use a retail DVD, and it's cheap enough to make it a worthwhile purchase.
