For those using VoodooPS2Controller for trackpad and keyboard, when you upgrade make sure you remove the ApplePS2Controller and ACPIPS2Nub kexts before rebooting. They are reinstalled by the update and cause kernel panics until they are removed.

Upgraded to 10.5.8 from MSIWindosx86.iso with 10.5.7 Combo Update

Steps:
1. Make sure you have the MSI 1.5 Upgrade
2. Run the software update to install the 10.5.8 combo update.
3. System will re-boot. However, it comes back with 800x600 resolution.
4. Re-install the MSI 1.5 update, this will fix the screen and other goodies.
5. Run you script to enable the WI-FI.
6. Back in business.

I have a S10-2 w/2GB and 500GB drive (Running Windows7, Window/XP and OS X 10.5.8)

What works?
- WI-FI
- Bluetooth
- Sound
- Ethernet
- Dual-Monitor
- Camera
- Power Management

What does not work?

- Sleep (when system wakes up, it re-boots the system)
- Skype (current version terminates when trying to call another computer)

(If anyone has a solution, please post the “how to”

Thanks

Hi,

I really need help!

I just installed the update from 10.5.6 and as gs4322 says it comes back with 800x600 resolution. I couldn't find the msi 1.5 update anywhere, so I followed the advice here http://forums.msiwind.net/mac/display-r ... 13495.html and reinstalled the GMA950 driver and now it won't restart, just gets stuck on the apple logo.

Any suggestions??

Linky to MSI 1.5 upgrade pack post:

http://forums.msiwind.net/osx-drivers/c ... 13266.html

Just upgraded myself but didn't need the msiwind 1.5 upgrade. Here's my process from scratch:

1. Amru's guide to 10.5.6 (msiwindosx86). Working fine.
2. Combo update to 10.5.7.
3. Installed DellEFI1.2a5. Working fine.
4. Combo update to 10.5.8
5. Re-installed bcm43xx_enabler_0.5.1pre.sh kext in order to get wifi.
6. Re-installed Azalia audio (as per Amru's guide). Working fine.

Hope you all have success :). I'm gagging to get my hands on a Lenovo S12 (with nvidia ion) as my next hackintosh. A resolution less than 800px vertically is useless for a website designer/photographer such as myself. I just read that the ion upgrade won't hit europe though :(

Does anyone experience the 'battery icon' issue described in the following thread after 10.5.8 update:
http://www.mydellmini.com/forum/mac-os- ... ports.html

The symptom is, the battery icon showing 'Power Adapter' as the power source even when running on battery. The remaining battery time is not showing, and finally, under the Energy Saver Preference it no longer has the 'battery' and 'power adapter' modes.

I have this problem on ASUS Eee pc, and wonder if anyone see this on their S10?
