What about "drive D:" ? Can I erase it?

Postby Milan » Thu Jan 21, 2010 5:40 am

Hi,

I am just wondering if I can totally erase everything on my S10-2´s "drive D:" ...
There is just one visible directory named "drivers" on it. What are these drivers for? The other directory called "Lenovo" is invisible and the path where OneKeyRecovery stores it´s images.

My question is if I can erase/format this drive completely without having any trouble later with the OneKeyRecovery-Software or in creating new images again?
Partition-size and data of the hidden partition have not been manipulated of course.

Thank you very much for your help!

I'm pretty sure if you manipulate your partitions in any significant way, like formatting, then One Key Recovery will no longer function, ever again, unless somebody out there knows how to restore the drive to it's factory state. Again, changing the drive partitions will cause OKR to no longer work. You've been warned.
Cheers!

Hi and thanks for your reply!

I don´t want to change the partition, just the content.
For example delete the "drivers" folder on drive D:

Best regards

Oh, well I can't be certain, but I suspect you can delete files on the D partition and still have OKR functioning, but do so at your own risk. I reformatted and changed to Windows 7, and never used the OKR software so I can't say for sure. I would expect that the directory where it stores the backups needs to remain there for it to work though.
Cheers!

you can restore OKR... check out this thread.

I use Linux though and blitzed my HDD, so can't help you with the drivers folder. I would suspect that some scripts run by OKR use those drivers and removing them may (or may not) make it fail. Only one way to find out ;)
