Dual Operating System problem

Postby stephenhope » Mon Nov 23, 2009 2:00 am

Hello Everyone,

I have big problem and need solution.
I am not able to start My XP. I have install dual OS XP and Fedora. I have deleted the XP's C: drive where It was installed.
Now the problem is that I am not able to reinstall it due to fedora's Non Dos partition.

I want to delete the Non Dos partition and install XP back..

I dont want to lose my data on other drives like D:,E:, and F: ..

Is there any solution to delete the fedora an can get my space with XP back???

Can you boot into Fedora?

If so, run gparted and post a screenshot.

Of course it's a non-DOS partition, it's likely ext3 (or ext4).

Installing a new OS on one partition should not affect the other partitions unless something goes wrong. You just need to know how to use XP's partitioning tool. Boot up the XP installer and when it asks where to install, identify which is the Fedora partition, delete that partition, and create a new one in its place (formatted NTFS - quick). If you're not sure, definitely post a gParted screenshot and we'll tell you which is which.

No you can't have multiple OS on the same logical partition.
There's no place like 127.0.0.1
