LP101WH1-TL-B1 , There are several of these on ebay and some even comes with adapter to move the connector to the other side.

I am currently looking into the bios to see if we can change the display setup directly in the bios.
I have found the Phoenix Bios tool and have dissasembled the latest bios to see if I can stumble upon display parameters there.
I do not believe the lcd setup is in display.rom file so I am just playing around at the moment.
If anyone else knows anything about how the bios sets up the lcd please tell !

Been checking more now.
The lcd setup is in the DISPLAY00.ROM file in bios. I have extracted the rom from bios using the
Phoenix_Mod_Tool_1.42 tool.

I am now trying to get the bios dissasembled using the Binary Modification Program from Intel.
That is the tool that edits vbios (display bios).
I am also trying to get build the vbios from scratch using IEGD tool from Intel. This is the embedded video rom creation tool from Intel. Just have to figure out watcom first !

That is amazing progress. I hope you can solve this as I've now found out that a bcm70015 is amazing with the s10e (i had the old 70012). With higher resolution, these crystal HDs would be almost perfect.

Good luck! Please let us know your findings.

Howdy!

I am planning to do this modification to my own netbook, but I was wondering about some potential side effects.
Being a higher resolution, I was wondering if that influences performance in any meaningful way, especially if playing 3d games such as Myst Uru or Minecraft (which is slow enough as it is).
Equally, I am curious as to what resolutions are available in case I need to bump it down to 1024x576 for any reason.
Also, I too am curious as to how bios hacking has gone to enable better support for the new panel is coming along. If it includes information on how to change the lenovo splash image, all the better.

ps.
First Post! hope I'm not doing too severe a thread necromancy.
