Got the bluetooth kit from hellowifi late last month and just had a chance to install it. Pretty straight forward, however I have one small problem.

I installed the lenovo bluetooth driver and it worked fine...for about 10 minutes (ballpark), then it when offline. the only way I could get it
back up was to reboot. Turning it on and off didn't help.

So....thinking that maybe I had a bad driver, I uninstalled it, rebooted and downloaded bluesoiel. Same thing. Worked for about 10 minutes
then offline. However this time I could turn it back on but toggling the on/off in the Fn F5 keys and then it would work again...for about 10 minutes.

I was using my cell phone transferring pictures files from my phone to the my desktop. 3 or 4 pictures and everything was fine, but after that,
my cell would lose it's connect with the S10. Checking the S10, it shows the BT connection X'd out.

*sigh*. Anyone else having this problem? I'm pretty certain that the cable connections were firmly connected. And, that wouldn't explain it's
odd behavior.

[What I mean is like some printer drivers come with the bare "add printer" driver, while others come with status monitoring software and other kinds of additional support software, while both packages share the same exact drivers they vary in terms of additional software included in the install]

I think I have found the difference in the s10 and the much larger s10e driver packages. I uninstalled/installed both. Curiously, the driver versions and release dates associated with the dongle are identical in the device manager properties for both driver packages. However, the larger s10e .exe package creates a Bluetooth LAN Server network adapter which the s10 driver does not appear to create. I suspect that this is the only difference.

I don't understand the purpose of this adapter. Is anyone familiar with what its role is or could be? Does it allow for the creation of a Bluetooth LAN network similar to a WiFi LAN network?

My concern is reports that this Bluetooth LAN adapter can slow internet browsing through WiFi. See this article http://www.esato.com/archive/t.php/t-39274,1.html. I am sure we all prefer our netbooks optimally performing so I would like the communities opinion on whether there is value in using the larger s10e driver with the Bluetooth LAN Server network adapter that it creates. Thanks

If the bluetooth module isn't recognized at first after installing the drivers, but before reversing the connector (I don't know that it matters it looks like its wired the same on both sides) Cycle the WIFI button (the button next to the OKR button near the power button) It took me awhile before I tried that, and mine didn't want to work at first.. When I turned the wifi back on, the bluetooth was subsequently recognized and the drivers installed.

Thank you! Saved me from a lot more work. Kudos!

I just picked up the S10e a few days ago. Sadly it does not appear to have BT installed already even though the specs on it from the place I ordered clearly had BT listed in two different descriptions on the site. I knew it was optional so thats why I checked the detailed specs. That is the main reason I went with the "e" version so Im slightly agitated. Im waiting to hear back from them on how they want to correct this situation.

So I did some searching and came across this site and thread. Anyway if nothing else this thread might be saving me from a huge headache so Kudos to all involved in making this upgrade possible.

Will stereo bluetooth headphones work with my computers bluetooth without a transmitter? My computer has bluetooth version 2.1 EDR. What i don't know is if my computer must have stereo bluetooth.

Just a heads up, the drivers that have been recommended for the BT module didn't work for me. I ordered from hello and received mine last week. XP recognized the module as a BCM2046 BT device, but none of the Lenovo drivers did anything. BueSoleil install/drivers didn't work either. I spent several hours screwing around with it and pretty much gave up. For the hell of it, I googled BCM2046 and found a link to a guy who had made a generic driver. This actually worked. So if you're about to give up, try this one.
